About Us

The ministry started in 1984 with the establishment of MGNM (Musical Good   News Ministries) as a writer/publisher affiliated with SESAC.  Playing “Musical Good News Get-together” Concerts, writing and teaching a Keyboard Band program developed for in-reach and outreach programs for churches, as well as writing for Kids Jamboree (a children’s Christian syndicated TV show produced in Baton Rouge, LA) kept him more than a little occupied.  Three more children to get through college and the realization that it just wasn’t Bob’s time - put the ministry on hold.

SmiGle Ministries started with the coinage of the word smiGle.  The song “You Can’t Be Happy Where You Ain’t” brought the awareness that most folks, even at Church on Sunday morning, didn’t appear to be all that happy.  The word smiGle came about when Bob decided to do what he could to get the church to smile more, show more compassion and less contempt for those on the outside and the “SmiGle Song” soon followed.  “We need to put God in the middle of our smile as well as all of our activities.”  The “Valuable Beautiful Person” lyric was inspired about a year later and the following realization that this was a calling to a specific ministry.  SmiGle!  What better word to describe what every person in the world should be about: The Capital “G” - God In The Middle!  So put a capital “G” in the middle of your smi_le and smi“G”le!

The Future is in good hands, as it as been since Bob accepted Christ in 1949 and “we intend to keep it there.”  Bob says: “If we want to church the un-churched, we’d better “un-church the churched”!  To be precise, “get out of our comfortable pews and go love somebody!”  God created each of us to be, be with God - happy doing.  So let’s “Keep God In The Middle” of all our doings.  God is our friend!  Start a SmiGle Group!  Shoo! Scat! Move it! Get out of here! Vamoose! Get! Go on out and love somebody!

Two Things For You To Do NOW is to please read and Sign the Petition, then register you and your family, or you and a friend or two, - as a SmiGle Group!

Two Things For You To Pray For so to help children learn to use their value, - to value others.  The first is a verbal team sport we want to introduce to all schools called “Tic Tac Toc Toe” and secondly funding to get “The Keyboard Band” program up and going.

“All my experiences, even the bad ones, have become precious!  God has used and is using them to help me overcome the things that I allowed to devalue me and let me see that I and each of you are Valuable Beautiful Persons!”
